Final year MOUAU first class student, Miss Blessing Kalu, dies in a motorcycle accident after her last paper

A final-year student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Blessing Kalu, has been killed by a truck in Umudike Oboro in the Ikwuano LGA of Abia State. 


The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday, August 23, 2021, just two days after her final exam on Friday, August 20.
It was gathered that the first class Entrepreneurial Studies student was on a motorcycle and was on her way back home after filling her gas cylinder when the incident happened.
According to reports, the motorcycle rider carrying her tried to overtake a truck when she was hit by the truck’s backside. The rider was said to have escaped unhurt.
 
An excerpt From the Release by NANS Abia State Chapter, said “The ugly incident that claimed her life took place within the early hours of today along MOUAU Route within Research Institute
 
Where the victim was on cyclist and was on her way back home, after filling her gas cylinder, an eye witness confirmed that the reckless and impatient cyclist driver, in a bid to over take the trailer , resulted to this tragic incident that could have been averted.
