VIDEO: D. President, William Ruto, sends tributes to 17 people who drowned in St. Joseph Seminary bus in Enziu River, Kitui County, Mwingi

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that over 17 people have drowned after their seminary bus plunged into Enziu River, Polani sana, Kitui County, Mwingi, Kenya. (Read More Here).

According to information, the incident happened on December 4, 2021, at exactly 3:00Pm. Also, no fewer than 10 people have been rescued and some are reportedly missing. 

In the trending video, the Saint Joseph Catholic Church bus, is seen as it tried to drive through the river. The bus got towards the end of river (leading to another road) when it lost its balance and fell into the water. 

The residents immediately rushed to the river to rescue the passengers on the bus. 

Taking to his Twitter page, the Deputy President of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto, penned an emotional message to the departed souls. 

He wrote:

“Our thoughts are with the families, their loved ones and friends of those who have perished in the tragic accident in Mwingi, Kitui County. Sending our prayers and speedy recovery to the survivors.

“We urge motorists to be extra cautious especially now when we are experiencing heavy rains across the country.”
